American Diggers = Hurting the Detecting Hobby

I don’t know who came up with the crap that is “American Diggers” on SpikeTV, but they have slipped to a new low of quality.  The stars are boring, the premise is misguided and the values of relics recovered is blatantly wrong.

I hope that nobody watches it – especially property owners – as they will get a badly incorrect impression of metal detecting and relic hunting ethics.

I’m disappointed in Spike, Rick Savage and the advertisers who are sponsoring the show.

One Response to American Diggers = Hurting the Detecting Hobby

  1. Conrad says:

Your right! They are making a mess and giving true Detectors a bad rap. I have ancient property and already am getting trespassers. One had a metal detector and when I called the sheriff he asked me if its ok? After you trespass?
I am a long time digger and am apalled. I haven’t checked my acerage yet. The house taken down was on Indian land. I respect Indian ground after finding a possible burial site on my land.
